This marked the brand's inaugural entry into this elite series, signifying a significant breakthrough in the premium cigar segment. Limited to just 5,000 boxes worldwide—each containing 15 cigars—its scarce production run immediately established its collector's status. It became a coveted focal point for cigar enthusiasts globally and is widely recognized as one of Habanos S.A.'s premier masterpieces.
As a core member of the GR series, this cigar strictly adheres to the series“ standards in both materials and craftsmanship. It features tobacco leaves from Pinar del Río, Cuba's westernmost province—the heartland of Cuban cigar production. This region boasts uniquely favorable soil and climate conditions, yielding tobacco renowned worldwide for its exceptional quality. All tobacco leaves originate from the 2011 harvest and undergo an aging process exceeding five years—far surpassing conventional cigar maturation standards. This extended aging allows the tobacco's sharpness to fully subside, enabling its flavors to deepen and mature. The wrapper, binder, and filler of each cigar are crafted exclusively from this premium aged tobacco. The cigar band prominently displays the gold ”GR" letters, visually signifying its exclusive status as a special reserve.
